Does getting waxed hurt?
Pain is relative and varies greatly person to person. In general, most of the time an area is waxed for the first time there is some mild-moderate discomfort. Your body does develop a tolerance to it over time and through repeated sessions. Plus, waxing without proper training almost always leads to painful scenarios – that’s one reason why trusting a professional with your waxingversus attempting DIY is important. Save time, experience minimal pain and get smooth, hair free discreet – and non discreet - areas.
How should I care for my freshly waxed areas?
Waxed areas need to "heal" for at least 24 hours. Treat the area similar to how you would care for a minor sunburn. Limit the areas to bacteria exposure by avoiding fragrance lotion and perfumes, tight clothing, showering, bathing, pools, hot tubs, sun exposure, sex and working out. Help the areas heal effectively by using aloe vera, a cold compress, unscented body lotions, gentle body soap or sensitive skin body wash, and wait at least 48 hours exfoliate.
Waxing frequency really depends on the area you are having waxed and how fast your hair grows. Typically you should schedule your appointments for every 2-4 weeks but ask your waxing specialist for your individual recommendation.
Why should someone spray tan?
Spray tanning allows one to maintain the health of their skin while getting the sun kissed glow they crave for a special event or for their day to day life.
If you shave, make sure to shave one day prior. If you wax, do so two days prior to spray tanning. The day of, cleanse with a non-moisturizing body wash, exfoliate and do not use lotion, makeup, perfume or deodorant after showering. This way you skin is prepped effectively to absorb the tanning solution.
Wear loose, dark clothing following its application. Avoid exercise, saunas, and steam rooms for 24 hours following the initial application and avoid chlorinated pools and hot tubs while enjoying your spray tan. Moisturize daily and be sure to wear SPF – while you “look” tan, you can burn easily with your faux glow!
